How We Work Together, Step by Step
Complimentary Consultation
Your free 15 minute consultation is the perfect time to ask questions and express any concerns you have related to your child’s communication skills. Information gathered during this call will help the therapist to determine if a formal speech and language evaluation would be appropriate for your child. If so, we will work together to determine a date, time, and location that are most convenient for you.
Speech & Language Evaluation
Results of a speech and language evaluation will determine if your child qualifies/would benefit from speech therapy services. The evaluation style and assessment type used will depend on your child’s age and abilities, as well as your primary concerns. This assessment will analyze a variety of communication domains and also address any other factors that could be contributing to communication difficulties. You will be provided with a detailed report, as well as a care plan which will include goals that have been created specifically for your child.
Custom, Convenient Therapy Services
Speech therapy services will be provided in whichever environment is available and most convenient which can include the home, daycare/preschool, or community spaces! These sessions will vary in length and frequency based on what works best for your family and what is most appropriate for your child. Consistent communication between therapist and caregivers/other members of the team as well as practice outside of therapy play huge roles in progress and generalization of skills!
Caregiver Coaching
Interested in one-on-one guidance from a speech-language pathologist?
During these 30-60 minute sessions, you'll learn how to embed evidence-based techniques into daily routines, enhance your child's communication skills, and build confidence in your role as their most important language model.
These sessions are perfect for parents who want to actively support their child’s language development, even if they don’t currently have specific concerns about their child’s communication skills. If you do have concerns, a consultation/evaluation is recommended. Please note that caregiver coaching sessions are not a substitute for speech therapy.

Play and Say specializes in Early Intervention and preschool age services - birth up to age 5.

We currently service Fort Mill and Tega Cay, South Carolina.

We provide services in home, at your child’s school/daycare, and in community spaces (when available and appropriate).

At this time, Play and Say is out of network with insurance companies. However, upon request, we can provide you with a superbill to submit to insurance for potential reimbursement.
